In this novel, there are many characters. The main character is David Balfour; he is one of Balfour family member and the one who will get his father welfare. His uncle Ebenezer Balfour who told him that he is a Balfour Family and his uncle told a lie about his Father. One day his uncle tried to kill David by told to David that he invited to a ferry by Mr. Ransome and Capt. Hoseason. David tried to escaped, but he failed. Then someone help him; a lawyer, Alan Stewart. He helps David from his uncle, and agreed to bring him to his house.
This novel is an interesting novel, in this novel when Alan Stewart wanted to trap David uncle for his crime and the story about Ebenezer and David father was twins is the part that I like. Ebenezer hide the truth about he is twins to David is because he dislike David very much; he can’t accept David present to Balfour Family and the most important Ebenezer dislike David because David is the one who will accept all of the wealthy that his father have.
The larger issue that dealt in this novel is the story of someone who has been asked by his uncle about the truth about his identity and he come to one big family, the rich family. The boy has been served by his uncle, but his uncle tried to kill him hiding from his kindness because the truth is his uncle is rejecting the boy from his family because he dislikes the new family member.
If I was the author, I will make this novel more complex and more interested with change the story when the goal of Ebenezer wanted to kill David is rejecting him from his family changed by his big family (Balfour family) is the one who rejecting David and told Ebenezer to kill him. Ebenezer desperate and confuse, he accept his family mission, but in other side he love David and didn’t want to kill him. In the final chapter David knows the truth and forgiving his uncle for that case, then Ebenezer make a deal with his family about David, and they finally agreed David is a Balfour family. It also affect for all of story, but it make it more complex.
